Best Practices Guide
As part of the GreenFit initiative, we are conducting comprehensive international research across partner countries and beyond to identify the most effective strategies in inclusive sports. Our goal is to compile a dynamic Best Practices Guide featuring 25 proven, easily adaptable methods for engaging intellectually disabled and disadvantaged youth in outdoor, nature-based activities. This digital booklet will serve as a vital resource for educators, trainers, and sports clubs across Europe, empowering them to break down barriers, share valuable insights, and build truly inclusive, sustainable sporting environments in their own communities
deliverables
Inclusive Outdoor Sport Programme
At the heart of the GreenFit project lies our specially designed Inclusive Outdoor Sport Programme. Co-created by our international partners, this comprehensive curriculum features at least four adaptable modules aimed at bringing together youth with and without intellectual disabilities. By stepping out of traditional indoor gyms and embracing nature-based activities, we not only promote physical health and psychosocial well-being but also foster genuine friendships and mutual understanding. Accompanied by a practical implementation guide, this eco-friendly programme equips educators, trainers, and volunteers with the exact tools they need to easily organize accessible, mixed-ability outdoor sports that leave no one behind
Events
Inclusive Outdoor Sport Events
To bring our vision to life, GreenFit will host a series of dynamic Inclusive Outdoor Sport Events across our partner countries. These local events are designed to unite at least 100 participants—bringing together intellectually disabled, disadvantaged, and non-disabled youth in shared, nature-based activities. By applying our tailored outdoor sport programme in real-world settings, we aim to break down social barriers, encourage peer-to-peer learning, and foster teamwork and leadership. Beyond improving physical well-being, these eco-friendly gatherings celebrate diversity, challenge stereotypes, and prove that sports truly are for everyone.
